Q: Using the middle row of letters on a keyboard, name something that has eight stars. Hint: The answer is spelled in 10 letters.Let's see there were 7 castaways on Gilligan's Island, so that was 7 stars perhaps. Or on the Brady Bunch there were Mike and Carol and 6 kids but Alice made 9 stars. Perhaps I'm thinking of the wrong type of stars. What a folly!
Edit: My clue was "folly" as in Seward's Folly. If you want to see more clues, check out the comments. I liked the references to "Juneau" and "Alaska" as well as the hints for "flag".
A: ALASKA FLAG
Figured it out, but I don't like it. Doesn't feel right grammatically, like puzzle adultery.
ReplyDeleteI agree, but to fix it you'd need to borrow a key from the bottom row.
ReplyDeleteOr spell it in 11 letters and a punctuation mark.
ReplyDelete...or rearrange you keyboard. that'd be easy.
ReplyDeleteBlaine, is your interest in these word puzzles still waning?
Hey, no call backs to prior puzzle comments... there will be a penalty imposed for that.
ReplyDeleteAkkkk! What do ju know?
ReplyDeleteCouldn't get it. But my wife, Fiona, loves alphabet games. I'll ask her.
ReplyDeleteIt is a banner week for comments!! I agree with Rick.
ReplyDeleteI liked Ben's clues of "AK", "ju know", "Fiona loves alphabet games" and "I'll ask her".
ReplyDeleteSeems like everyone had the puzzle this week.
It was actually two different Bens. Don't you No-me yet?
ReplyDeleteThis one was easy, Inuit right away.
ReplyDelete;)
p.s. I agree with Rick too. Correct NPR puzzle answers are usually more artful, or at least less awkward.
ReplyDeleteThis kind of subpar answer makes me want to start a tavern brawl. You know... a Bar-row.
Yu-kon all stop the bad Alaskan puns now. :-)
ReplyDeletePlease understand that the other "akkkk" Ben is an imposter. I am the actual Ben, married to Fiona. But not really.
