Q: Think of a seven-letter word meaning 'entrance.' Switch the second and fourth letters and you'll get another seven-letter word meaning 'exit.' What are the words?I'm sorry. My PC was having issues so I wasn't able to post a hint this weekend. The puzzle is easy, so I'm sure you'll figure it out.
Edit: My hints were PC (as in Gateway) and weekend (as in getaway)
A: GATEWAY --> GETAWAY
I told my sister that once you get in the swing of this puzzle thing, it is easier all the time. Ben, I see that you liked this one!!
ReplyDeleteMy daughter spilled milk on her keyboard over the weekend right before she quickly departed to college.
ReplyDeleteMy girlfriend and I are taking some time offand going to St. Louis this week so I won't have time for this puzzle.
ReplyDeletePhred in KC
I almost had a cow trying to figure this out.
ReplyDeleteI started with rebus puzzles when I was a kid, but that was just a starter drug for more intense puzzles like these. Now when my puzzling gets too intense, I like to unwind with an old Steve McQueen movie.
ReplyDeleteDon, you're right. As I posted on benbassandbeyond.com, I think Mr. Shortz returned to form this week. After three straight gimme putts, the current puzzle is of adequate difficulty.
Phred, my worst enemy lives in St. Louis. He's my arch-nemesis.
ReplyDeleteI didn't have to make up my hint this week. My daughter did indeed spill milk on her laptop keyboard right before she hurried back to school. She doesn't have a Gateway computer, but did make an embarrassed getaway.
