Here's a fun game you can play with friends. I'll give you a sequence of letters. Your goal is to find a common English word that has those letters exactly in that order with no additional letters in between. As the title implies, if I gave you "BVI" you could reply with "oBVIous". Got it?
To get you started, here are a few combinations to try:
HTG, WKW, UMF, PTC, GGP, AUE and HMM...
Good luck, and feel free to post any letter combinations of your own that might be fun to try.
Hmm, that's how I might feel if my dinner hosts serves a vegetable I dislike.
ReplyDeleteIs that a hint toward one of them?
ReplyDeleteTwo of them, actually.
ReplyDeleteI think Mike was referring to WKW and GGP.
ReplyDeleteAnother one makes her comfy when sleepy.
try HBR to make another word...and good lick. I got all of them except PTC--any clues.
ReplyDeleteoops I meant good luck--guess my typing leaves something to be desired...
ReplyDeletefinally got the PTC...I went for broke and finally got it.
ReplyDeleteCookieface, you'll need HPA to go with your HBR.
ReplyDeleteBlaine-I do not know if we are on the same page with the words with HBR and HPA...there might be more than one word for each of these letters. Or maybe there is some connection with the two words in question???????? We will have to share the words--just say the word and we will compare.
ReplyDeleteMy initial thought on HBR was something you might need after a meal, hence the corresponding HPA. I thought of a couple other solutions for HBR including a horse and a synonym for intellectual. Are either of those the one you were thinking of?
ReplyDeleteGeez--you are really good--the synonym for intellectuall was exactly what I had in mind. And I was not sure if I wanted to give the clue as GHB as opposed to HBR. Now I need to figure out the HBR that you were thinking of that does indeed go with HPA. I am on the same page just have to work on HBR a little while longer, unless you just want to give me the word--I will work at it in the meantime.
ReplyDelete4 out of 5 would recommend it...
ReplyDeleteYes, happysteve, I was. And now I have HTG. I also know Blaine's words for HBR and HPA. HBR doesn't work for this puzzle as there are at least two words that come to mind.
ReplyDeleteHere's a few more:
ReplyDeleteKYS, OKK and YBD
Have them all now and will start on these next few letters....Happy Presidents Day all
ReplyDelete"Some are elementary my dear Watson"--have all the words now.........good puzzles Blaine!
