  4. As I’m sure every puzzler in the world knows by now, the answer is Michael Phelps which – without its doubled letters spells micas. This week’s puzzle is destined to be at the top – or near the top – of all correct puzzle answers ever submitted.

  5. MICHAEL PHELPS, MICAS
Also, the answer to my puzzle is LEAN ON ME by BILL WITHERS and later CLUB NOUVEAU. Then you insert the B into LEAN ON to get LEBANON.

  6. Next week's challenge, from listener Kenneth Low of Monterey Park, Calif.: Take the name of a country. Among its letters is the name of part of the human body, reading from left to right, although not necessarily consecutively. Cross out these letters. The remaining letters in order, reading left to right, will name part of an animal's body. What country is it?

For NPR puzzle posts, don't post the answer or any hints that could lead to the answer before the deadline (usually Thursday at 3pm ET). If you know the answer, submit it to NPR, but don't give it away here.

You may provide indirect hints to the answer to show you know it, but make sure they don't assist with solving. You can openly discuss your hints and the answer after the deadline. Thank you.
